Dawson County and neighboring areas are now under a tornado watch until 2 a.m. Wednesday, according to a National Weather Service alert.
Strong to severe thunderstorms will move into Georgia and spread through areas including Dawson County Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning, the NWS watch stated.
Damaging winds of 50-70 mph. are the main hazard expected, according to the NWS.
The watch also mentioned a chance for an “isolated tornado or large hail.”
